Wanted - Geauga Hunger Task Force Volunteer Board Member

The Geauga Hunger Task Force (GHTF) is a non-profit organization focused on our mission to ensure that “no resident of Geauga County goes hungry". The GHTF was created to meet emergency hunger needs in 1977. This mission has expanded to include five pantries, the efforts of Nextstep (a stabilization program providing support for young adults), United Way (home delivered meals to home bound people under 60 and disabled), Chagrin Park community (a site that also feeds seniors from that community meals) and starting in 2021, the Veterans pantry in Munson.

Our board members come from many walks of life. We look to their life experiences in serving others to help guide our decisions. The main duty of the Board is to secure and protect funds to meet our mission. We request that our members must either live or work in Geauga County to better understand the needs of this community. We meet every other month to discuss and make decisions concerning the needs of the sites we support. We have grown both in size and skills in recent years. Currently we seek new members with skills in business, volunteer coordination, grant writing or IT, but a willing heart and the desire to serve others are the most sought skills.

If you would like to discuss this position, you may contact us at info@geaugahungertaskforce.org . We will contact you to discuss your background and interest.
