A Big Thank You to Mercury Plastics

May 6, 2020

Adversity often brings out the best in people. In recent weeks, many of our neighbors have offered the Geauga Hunger Task Force assistance by way of food donations, volunteer time and monetary offerings. Support has come from numerous individuals and families, as well as local businesses. The Board would especially like to thank a Masco Corporation company, Mercury Plastics, and their President Jay Burnett for their generous gift of $10,000 for distribution to the local food pantries as needed for Covid-19 relief. Their kind support goes a long way in meeting the increased needs of our local pantries, as many people find themselves in serious economic difficulty during this statewide shutdown.

The Geauga Hunger Task Force (GHTF) is a volunteer-driven organization whose mission is to ensure that no resident of Geauga County goes hungry. We provide support to six independent food pantries throughout our county. We also help to provide meals for young adults at NextStep and home-delivered meals to disabled residents under 60.
