Two 7th Graders Step Up in a Big Way to Help Geauga Hunger Task Force

May 6, 2020

Two 7th grade students from University School – Mark Scheeringa and Kyle Raymond, (with the help of their mothers) organized a quick fundraising drive in Canyon Lakes on April 24th for the benefit of the Geauga Hunger Task Force.  They quickly raised $138 from generous donors who were over six feet away.  They stood near a stop sign in the neighborhood with signs asking motorists to pitch in contributions into a bin. They collected $138.

The Geauga Hunger Task Force has received an amazing amount of support from the community.  Food drives and cash donations have helped keep the pantry shelves stocked.  The pantry volunteers have done an amazing job of providing food to residents while practicing social distancing.  Curbside pickup is available at some pantries.  If you are in need of food, contact 211 for pantry locations and hours of operation or for more details check out the website at:  www.geaugahungertaskforce.org
