Local Doctor and 4-H Club Join to Support Geauga Hunger Task Force

August 27, 2019

Drs. Augustine and Mary Kellis will be presenting a check to the Geauga Hunger Task Force for $18,251.39 at the Great Geauga County Fair on Friday, August 30, 2019, at 2:30 p.m., at the Junior Fair Pavilion on the fairgrounds.
For the fifth consecutive year, Dr. Kellis partnered with the Greener Fields 4-H Club to sponsor a 4-H food drive to benefit the Geauga Hunger Task Force.  Local businesses, 4-H Clubs, churches and libraries across the county participated by donating food and giving money. The proceeds will help those Geauga residents that use one of the seven local food pantries supported by the Geauga Hunger Task Force. The 4-H drive raised $18,251.39.  With the match, $36,502.78 will have been given to Geauga Hunger Task Force this year. This is an increase of $13,216.90 from last year’s drive.

About Greener Fields: Greener Fields 4-H Club was founded in 2010.  Members raise rabbit and poultry projects. While community service projects are a requirement for all 4-H participants, Greener Fields members take this to heart. Year after year, they strive to follow 4-H’s motto “to make the best better” by increasing the food drive’s reach. Their partnership with Dr. Augustine Kellis benefits seven food pantries supported by the Geauga Hunger Task Force.
