Good Tidings Benefit Choir is Recruiting Singers

The autumn colors are beginning to show. Soon after, we will be enjoying the holidays. But not everyone can look forward to these days with joy. One in six in Ohio are food insecure. One in nine in Geauga County cannot count on their next meal.

How would you like to truly help your neighbors by singing?  It is time again for the voices of the Good Tiding Benefit Choir to come together to raise spirits and funds for the Geauga Hunger Task Force. All practices will be held at Notre Dame Chapel, 13000 Auburn Road in Munson, Ohio. Sundays 2 pm - 4 pm. This year is special as it is the choir’s 30th anniversary and we celebrate our continuing success in caring for our neighbors.   

Practices start October 13th for the 1st section of Handel’s Messiah plus other Seasonal music.  The choir is open to high school students and older. You may bring your own Messiah score with you or there will be copies available for approx. $8. 00. Solo auditions will take place during the practices. The Christmas programs are December 7th at 7 pm, December 8th at 3 pm. We will be joined by other musicians from the area to enrich the program.
 
The Geauga Hunger Task Force is a volunteer driven organization that has been in existence since 1977. There are food pantries throughout Geauga County that serve the hungry year-round.  The Geauga Hunger Task Force supports seven of the food pantries serving over 500 families each month.  The Task Force also assists NextStep in helping feed their young adult clients, summer meals for school age children, and supports the under 60 and disabled residents with home-delivered meals.  Over 500,000 meals were provided in 2018. For more information, please visit www.geaugahungertaskforce.org  or the Geauga Hunger Task Force Facebook page.
